Dear School Community,
I hope you are doing well, staying healthy, and staying together and strong as we continue to face the health emergency.
School buildings will not reopen on March 30. The districts in Bergen County have been told to prepare and plan for distance learning to continue in two week intervals. If we are told to return to the buildings within the next two weeks, we will. If we are told to continue to provide distance learning beyond the two weeks, we will do so.
The next two week interval begins on Monday March 30 and runs through Thursday, April 9.
Spring Recess will begin, as scheduled, on Friday April 10 and continue the week of April 13-17.
Classes will resume on April 20.
I will advise you as to the continuation of distance learning beyond spring recess prior to the break. Governor Murphy’s executive order closed school “indefinitely.” We are looking at two week blocks to help with planning for faculty, staff, students, and parents. There is no timetable established for a return to the buildings.
The Governor has also announced that state testing has been canceled for this school year. The United States Department of Education has approved the state’s waiver to suspend testing.
Information regarding Advanced Placement Tests and Scholastic Achievement Tests will be sent from the High School as it is received from the College Board.
Thank you for your patience, cooperation and support.
Stay Well,
Jack Hurley, Superintendent of Schools
