Students in Ms. Mann, Mrs. Walker, and Mrs. Tiffner’s classes have just concluded a unit study on the Islamic world as part of their Social Studies curriculum. Throughout this unit, the students explored the complexities of Islam, gaining a deeper understanding of its religious principles and cultural significance. They also examined the remarkable achievements and contributions of key figures within Islamic society, appreciating their impact on fields such as science, literature, and philosophy. To bring their studies to life, the students analyzed the intricate art and stunning architecture characteristic of the Islamic world. The unit concluded with a hands-on activity where students channeled their creativity to design and create their own stained glass artwork, inspired by the beautiful geometric patterns and vibrant colors found in Islamic art. This immersive experience not only enhanced their knowledge but also allowed them to appreciate the artistic heritage of the Islamic civilization.
