{"id":2220,"date":"2020-09-24T13:00:13","date_gmt":"2020-09-24T17:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rutherfordschools.org\/washington\/?p=2220"},"modified":"2020-09-29T15:02:27","modified_gmt":"2020-09-29T19:02:27","slug":"september-24-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rutherfordschools.org\/washington\/september-24-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"September 24, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Parents and Guardians,<\/p>\n<p>We have had a wonderful start to the new school year!\u00a0 Our students and staff have\u00a0 transitioned very comfortably into our fully remote and in-person learning modules.\u00a0 I am grateful for the cooperation and support we have received from our parents and guardians as well.\u00a0 With that being said, we all need to be continually diligent in following the procedures and guidelines that have been established.\u00a0 Please read the entire document below to assist us in keeping our programs running smoothly.\u00a0 It will also provide you with other important information.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Mulcahy<\/p>\n<p><strong>Back to School Night<\/strong><br \/>\nWe will be taking a non-traditional approach to one of our favorite traditions of our school year.\u00a0 The teachers are creating video presentations that will be posted for viewing at a day and time convenient to you.\u00a0 These teacher videos will be posted by the afternoon on September 29.\u00a0 The videos will be posted on your teacher\u2019s Google website.\u00a0 You can access your teacher\u2019s website under the Staff Directory on the Washington School website<\/p>\n<p>Our Specials teachers will be posting videos on their Google websites as well.\u00a0 Our School Nurse, Ms. Lynn McShane, will be posting an important message on her website also.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Morning Drop-off<\/strong><br \/>\nWe are into a pretty good rhythm during our morning drop-off periods.\u00a0 It is important that parents and guardians pay strict adherence to the 15 minute time-frame provided for morning drop-off at each grade level.\u00a0 Please do not arrive early.\u00a0 Do not drop your child off via the car lane prior to their designated time. Our classroom teachers are not available to provide supervision prior to your child\u2019s dropoff time-frame.\u00a0 If you arrive late, you must park your car and sign your child into school at the front doors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dismissal\/Playground<\/strong><br \/>\nOverall, dismissal has also gone very smoothly.\u00a0 Please make it a point to arrive a few minutes in advance of your child\u2019s scheduled dismissal.\u00a0 Maintain social distancing while you wait.\u00a0 Once your child is dismissed, please leave the school grounds.\u00a0 We do not want children gathering on school grounds more than is necessary, for the time being.\u00a0 The playground is closed during dismissal times and is not open after school for open play.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Absences<\/strong><br \/>\nParents are required to follow the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1etHb52n8GF-Cw123yTOTSCvMcIOBBvI1vTPY6fdvil0\/edit?ts=5f46aae4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1etHb52n8GF-Cw123yTOTSCvMcIOBBvI1vTPY6fdvil0\/edit?ts%3D5f46aae4&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1601492149316000&amp;usg=AFQjCNF0pVjjF-OrEs8jYsFewVr_kHk-BA\">Daily Home Screening Checklist<\/a> before sending their children to school.
