Pierrepont School implemented Rachel\u2019s Challenge in September 2013. Since then, students in grades 4,5,and 6 have had the opportunity to join our club, Friends of Rachel (FOR). The program helps stimulate academic achievement and social-emotional learning by focusing on the connection between students, faculty and staff. The Friends of Rachel\u2019s Club has been meeting after school to develop programs that promote kindness in the school community.
\nThis year the students took a trip to Lincoln School to implement \u201cOperation Beautiful\u201d The FOR created 400 post-it notes with positive, uplifting messages and distributed them throughout Lincoln School. The goal was to make each student feel special. An announcement was made promoting
\nacceptance, peace and kindness in the hope that the Lincoln students would carry on the theme of the day throughout the school year.<\/p>\n
