Cultivating kindness through self-awareness and caring, Ms. Engels,\u00a0 Mrs. Macri, Ms. Lyon, Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Philp’s classes came together to explore the key to kindness. Reading the book\u00a0-ish<\/i>\u00a0by Peter Reynolds, the 4th and 5th grade students\u00a0engaged in discussions about the importance of being aware of their actions and being kind and caring toward others. Students then created puzzle pieces that represented themselves and what makes each and every one of them special in their own unique way. The puzzle pieces were then put together\u00a0to form a heart puzzle, combining the beauty they possess as individuals, creating a masterpiece which represents the power of everyone coming together through self-awareness and caring for others, resulting in kindness.<\/p>\n
