We want the children to learn to find the positive side of life.\u00a0\u00a0 Research shows that people who are optimistic are healthier and have better coping strategies.\u00a0\u00a0 At school we will be discussing how to find the goodness in a situation, learning that even rough times will pass, and seeing there may be a way to solve a problem. Parents can help their children develop this trait by asking children to think about the positives that can be found in a difficult situation or having children start their day with a positive affirmation.\u00a0\u00a0 Parents can also model for their children how they find the \u201csilver lining\u201d in life.
