The information provided was a general overview of the 2022-2023 school year.\u00a0 Additionally, a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Welcome to Kindergarten Information Packet <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be mailed in late August including directions on how to order lunch, your child\u2019s teacher assignment, and any other relevant information to start the school year.\u00a0 We will also host Back To School Night for parents to meet their child\u2019s teacher and to hear about their child\u2019s classroom experience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you were unable to attend, please review the bullets below, highlighting some of the information shared.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Registration is a two part process including online registration followed by submission of medical and residency information.\u00a0 Those that have not fully registered <\/span>will NOT<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> receive any communication from the school.\u00a0 Please be sure you have completed both steps and contact the board office, <\/span><a href=\"mailto:registration@rutherfordschools.org\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">registration@rutherfordschools.org<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, if you have any questions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our nurse is available to receive updated information or if you need to discuss any health related issues.\u00a0 Please do your best to communicate with our nurse prior to June 18th to ensure a prompt response.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">School day is from 8:45 am to 2:35 pm. Main doors open at 8:30 am.\u00a0 Before and after school care is available through Bulldog Care.\u00a0 Information is currently available on our<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rutherfordschools.org\/blog\/2022-2023-bulldog-registration\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> website <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to register<\/span><b> NOW <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for Bulldog Care in the fall.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kindergarten Center has 8 classroom teachers.\u00a0 Classroom aides share time between classrooms.\u00a0 Support services are available including speech, ESL, occupational therapy, physical therapy should a child be eligible.\u00a0 The district behaviorist and elementary student assistant counselor (SAC) also work with identified students to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviorally.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Promoting your child\u2019s independence is one of the best ways to prepare your child for school.\u00a0 Students should independently be able to use the bathroom, fasten and unfasten clothing, open and close containers (lunch items), carry a backpack etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Provide opportunities for your child to further develop their social and emotional skills.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are they able to state their first and last name?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do they follow directions the first time they are told?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do they react appropriately when they lose a game or if it is played in a different manner?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Can they identify and communicate their needs (bathroom, hungry, thirsty) or emotions?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Can they wait their turn and take turns?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0If you have answered no to any of these questions, the summer is a great time to practice and develop these skills before the start of the school year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parents are encouraged to check our <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rutherfordschools.org\/kcenter\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">webpage<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for additional information including the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rutherfordschools.org\/kcenter\/about-kcenter\/school-supplies\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">supply list<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the optional <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rutherfordschools.org\/media\/kcenter\/docs\/KCA-SummerCalendar.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">summer calendar<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thank you to all that were able to attend!
