Rutherford Student Assistance Program

Student Assistance Programs are a response to the many and varied personal problems that students bring with them to school. The sheer weight of some of these problems makes it impossible for students to concentrate on the emotional and developmental tasks they face. The services that the program provides is based on an educational premise: Students who receive help and support to deal with personal concerns will be able to focus their remaining energy more efficiently on their schoolwork.

Available Services

Some of the services that are available are: short term counseling, group counseling, individual counseling, prevention services, referral services, intervention services, treatment support and aftercare support.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is the cornerstone of the program. Exceptions occur in cases where there is a danger to self or others, cases of child abuse or criminal action.
