Letters Across the Atlantic - 6-8 grade students at Pierrepont School will write to and exchange a multi-media presentation with students in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Submitted by Ms. Laura Vahey.
World Language Festival - 6-8 grade students at Pierrepont and Union Schools will participate in a Saturday program including arts & crafts, cultural activities and a gourmet luncheon to supplement their classes in French, Spanish and Latin. Submitted by Mrs. Harriet Saxon, Ms. Patricia Fackina and Ms. Beatriz Kacmarik.
High School Freshman Orientation - funding will be provided for academic planners and t-shirts to be used for the freshman orientation program to promote class unity and facilitate the transition from middle school to the High School. Submitted by Ms. Lori Dernelle.
Caring Habit of the Month Club - 7th grade class at Union School will participate in a year-long program to advance academic excellence, teach citizenship and social skills and reduce violence by turning caring actions into habits, one month at a time. Submitted by Mrs. Louise Hetzel.
Listening Station - Funding for a listening station for 6-8 grade students at Union School which will allow them to listen to books on tape in order to broaden their reading experience to include listening and speaking as well as reading and writing. Submitted by Ms. Anne Hetzel.
Alphabet Manipulatives - Grade 1 students at Union will be provided with Wilson Language Magnetic Journals and letter stamps to facilitate letter recognition and reading skills. Submitted by Mrs. Kathy Bresin, Mrs. Amy Murphy and Mrs. Michele Sabia.
