Email to  For emergencies, dial 201-438-7675 x2115.  We do not monitor voicemails daily.  We are normally in the office from Monday – Wednesday from 6 – 8PM nightly during the Spring and Fall Semesters. We are only in the office during days that class run. Use our catalog for our calendar.

Navigating the Rutherford area is not easy with the current construction on Route 3 and 17.  Please use Google Maps, a GPS or alternative ways to get to 56 Elliott Place where the majority of the classes are held.   If your class is not held at Rutherford High School, follow the address specified on the catalog.


Q: When are brochures mailed out?
A: Brochures are mailed out in August for the Fall classes and January for the Spring classes.

Q: What towns are included on the brochure mailing list?
A: Rutherford, East Rutherford, Carlstadt, Hasbrouck Heights, Lyndhurst, North Arlington, Wallington, Moonachie, Wood-Ridge, Clifton, Nutley, Saddle Brook, Elmwood Park, Lodi, Garfield and more coming soon. If you’d like to be added to the email list, please contact us through email and/or subscribe to the email blasts. You can find the catalog online too. We can not mail out catalogs to other towns that are not listed here.

Q: When are your classes held?
A: Classes are held Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings in the Fall and the Spring. We do not run Winter nor Summer classes.

Q: Who is eligible to take these classes?
A: Any adult over 18, regardless of town residence, may register.  Current high school students will need special permission from the Rutherford Adult School. Contact us with any questions.

Q: What is your refund policy?
A: Students who cancel 7 days prior to the start of the first class will be refunded fully either by check or credit on our online system for future use with the Rutherford Adult School, after that time, no refunds will be issued. If you need to withdraw from a class within 7 days and when the class starts, there is a 50% cancellation fee and the remaining credit will be kept on your account for future classes in the Rutherford Adult School’s registration system. After the class has started, there is no refund (check/credit card) nor credit to online accounts provided. There are no exceptions to our refund and cancellation policy. Please note, we cannot refund you with cash or credit card. Please email if you need to withdraw or cancel a class. Failure to reply to emails will result in credit on your account and not being refunded with a check. Checks take 4-6 weeks to process and are returned via USPS. We can not process them over the phone or from voicemails.
