MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING

OF THE

RUTHERFORD BOARD OF EDUCATION

DECEMBER 20, 2000

 

A special meeting of the Board of Education was held on Wednesday evening, December 20, 2000 in the Borough Hall Committee of the Whole Room.  Meeting was called to order by President Willis at 5:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

On roll call the following members were present:  Mrs. Ahmed, Mr. Ferguson, Mr. Ferrara, Mr. McGehrin, Mrs. Miceli, Mrs. Monahan, and Mrs. Willis.  Mr. Derner and Mr. Novosielski were absent for the entire meeting.  Mrs. Conlon was also present.

 

N.J. OPEN PUBLIC MEETINGS LAW

The New Jersey Open Public Meetings Law was enacted to insure the right of the public to have advance notice of and to attend the meeting of public bodies at which any business affecting their interests is discussed or acted upon.  In accordance with the provisions of this Act, the Rutherford Board of Education has caused notice of this meeting to be published by having the date, time and place thereof posted on the bulletin board outside the Borough Clerk’s Office, mailed to the News Leader, Herald, South Bergenite, and the Record newspapers, and filed with the Borough Clerk.

PERSONNEL:

JOHN HURLEY                                      1.  Resolution by Mr. Ferrara, seconded by Mrs. Miceli.

                                                                        BE IT RESOLVED BY THE RUTHERFORD BOARD OF EDUCATION that approval be granted to employ Mr. John Hurley as the High School Principal, effective January 1, 2001 through June 30, 2001 at the annual salary of $101,949 (pro-rated, step 3, level Principal HS) per contractual agreement and in accordance with law.

Motion by Mr. Ferrara, seconded by Mr. McGehrin to approve the following Personnel Items #1-2.

 

SHERRIANNE ADAMO                     2. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE RUTHERFORD BOARD OF EDUCATION to rescind the resolution accepting the resignation of Miss Sherrianne Adamo, effective 1/31/01.

 

SHERRIANNE ADAMO                     3.  BE IT RESOLVED BY THE RUTHERFORD BOARD OF EDUCATION to accept the resignation of Miss Sherrianne Adamo, effective 6/30/01.
