The Rutherford High School Athletic Hall of Fame was founded on July 27, 1994. The Hall of Fame is a nonprofit organization that was incorporated with the State of New Jersey on October 5, 1994.
The sole purpose of the RHS Hall of Fame is to honor outstanding athletes, coaches, contributors and “championship teams” from Rutherford High School and to promote and maintain pride in the athletic traditions of Rutherford.
Induction ceremonies are held “every other year”. The first induction was in April 1996 and followed in each April in 1998, 2000, and 2002, and this past April 25, 2004. The sixth inductions will take place on Sunday, April 23, 2006.
The Hall of Fame presents two scholarships to boy and girl graduates from Rutherford High School. The first scholarships were in May of 1996. The Rutherford High School Athletic Hall of Fame conducts monthly meetings on the last Wednesday of each month at the RHS school library. These meetings are open to the public and encourage all who are interested to please attend.
