Second Grade:
Interdisciplinary, hands-on, minds-on, and NJCC Standards correlated, exploration into:
- Life Science –
- Insects: Investigations of the physical structure, classification, and life cycles of the Darkling . A field trip is included to the Meadowlands Environment Center to collect, identify, and examine insect specimens.
- Earth Science –
- Air and Weather: Explorations of air and wind and observations of changes in weather over periods of time.
- Astronomy : Explorations of Orbit and Rotation of the Moon.
- Physical Science –
- Solids and Liquids: Investigations of various forms of matter.
Third Grade:
Interdisciplinary, hands-on, minds-on, and NJCC Standards correlated, exploration into:
- Life Science –
- New Plants: Explorations of the physical structure, function, life and energy cycles of the Plant Kingdom. A field trip is included to collect, identify and examine various forms of plant life.
- Earth Science –
- Water: Explorations of the states, properties, and cycles of water.
- Astronomy: Explorations of models of the Earth and Phases of the Moon
- Physical Science – The Physics of Sound: Investigations of sounds, sound generators, how sound travels, and the nature of the human ear.
